Meeting the men and women of the mountains: every week groups leave with guides to visit the alpine chalets and high pastures where they are given a friendly welcome by the farmers and herdsmen. You will taste the delicious Abondance AOC (guaranteed origin) cheese, and flavoursome cold meats made on the mountain: hams, sausages; or enjoy a mountain sandwich with new-made butter and a thick layer of freshly culled bilberry jam. Savour it all with a glass of milk fresh from the cow, or a delicious cup of coffee or a soup made with streaky bacon that has simmered on the hob all afternoon.
